AUGUST 12 BLOGS:

B - How does your body feel?
My body feels beyond exhausted. For some reason this past week, I was feeling all kind of weird. I felt sick to my stomach, moody, and irritable. Needless to say it affected my mental state of mind. Usually when I feel like this I hit the gym extra hard but for some reason I could not get my mind to agree with my body. But I am happy to say that this week is a different ball game. I have to kick it into high gear and end this journey strong.

L - What have you learned about you? your coach? your team?
Working out is my therapy. No matter what is going on in my life, I still workout. My life can get a bit overwhelming and having that “me time” is crucial for my mental state of mind. Plus, it’s such a satisfying feeling knowing I did something good for me, my health, and daughter. I am her role model and showing my baby girl that staying active and fit is important is the norm, is very important to me.

This team is very inspiring and amazing role models. I have learned so much from my journeymen that made me realize its okay to fall off the wagon just as long as you get back on. I want to thank everyone that share their stories of why they are doing this journey. It touched my heart, brought tears to my eyes, and made feel that yes we can do this no matter what. I may not have the same “why” but nonetheless we still have the same goal of being  healthy and fit. Much respect to everyone.

O - What observations can you make about change?
Change is hard. It’s hard to maintain that momentum and accept that some days I won't do so well. To accept that and be at peace with it is an okay thing. I accept every challenge because I want that change.

I always say that “every day is a struggle”. I struggle with getting out of bed, getting ready for my work day, and getting the baby ready for the entire day. But just because its a struggle doesnt mean that I will give up or quit. My life is about taking care of me and daugther. I want to provide a safe, stable, loving, and happy home for her. And all of that starts with ME. I am doing the best that I can but still will continue to push myself harder because at the end of the day, I am Layla’s mom!!!” J

G- What small goals can you celebrate?
That even though I was in a funky mood this past week I still managed to get in all 5 of my workouts. J

S - Set your week's goals and plan you week!
I somehow still need to try to find a balance between my work, home, and workout life. I am still working on get that 6th workout in no matter and work on getting to bed at a reasonable hour so that I am able to wake up early and eat my first meal at home.

AUGUST 5 BLOGS:

B - How does your body feel?

My body feels exhausted. I had one amazing work out week. I worked my booty off. I worked out six times this past week. And let me tell you, I am feeling it!!! One of those workouts I did with my fellow journeywoman: Claudia. Yay for us. We hit the weight room, where the big boys hangout. It was an awesome workout. To my surprise she was bossing me around for the first time. Lol. She took the lead and keep pushing me hard. I loved it. We are definitely going to continue to be workout buddies once this journey is over. Like I said my body is sore but I feel stronger. Also, I have noticed that I am pushing a tad more in the warm up but it still kills me. On the plus side, I am still sleeping soooooooooo good. I love it!!!

L - What have you learned about you? your coach? your team?

I am one bad chick. I definitely need to give myself some much overdo credit. There is nothing wrong with patting myself on the back. J It’s amazing how when one person is determined to reach a certain goal….that person has to ask themselves “how bad do I want this?” and “what I am willing to do to get it?”. Those are the questions I ask myself. No matter what my days is like, Im always excited to go to the WORX. It’s the one place I feel good and at peace. Working out helps with my stress level and makes me happy. My life is crazy. I go to work, pick up the baby at sitter 5:00pm then head to the WORK; once I am there I play with her, and then feed her before 6:15pm. And it doesn’t stop there because then I had home to finish my day. I have no idea why I don’t fall out when I get home. I guess it’s because working out has given me the strength and energy to push through the evening. I am very proud that Layla gets to see how important and committed her mami is to be fit and healthy. I am definitely leading by example and that makes me feel even more empowered than ever.

I would like to send a special thank you WORX, Maia, Mariela, and the rest of the coaches. All of you have helped me in some shape or form. It definitely helps when you all at some point, have asked for more push-ups or made me feel that I can push hard, it much appreciated. Watching the Olympics has made me realize that success is not an overnight thing. These athletes have sacrificed years of their youth and life to prepare for these games. They have worked harder than the average person so that can be the best at their sport. That is truly amazing. It has been inspiring to watch the Olympics. It has motivated me to continue on this journey and know that if I put in the work, then I will see the results.

O - What observations can you make about change?

Change is forever evolving. Nothing will ever be the same. And I am okay with that. I love how I can make healthy choices when I am at parties, restaurants, or any gathering. I come prepare with snacks or even full blown meals. I sometimes eat before the party just in case. Most importantly I love the fact that I am learning a new way of cooking. I cook all the time and feel so good knowing that I am feeding myself and Layla amazing meals. Its exciting to feel great and see the change in my body. Whoo Hoo!!!!

G- What small goals can you celebrate?

For one that I have survived this past 6 weeks. Two that I worked out 6 times this past week. And lastly, I made some Chia & Flaxseed pancakes for Layla & myself. J

S - Set your week's goals and plan you week!
Definitely to get in that 5th or 6th workout no matter what is happening this weekend. And I am still working on getting to bed at a reasonable hour so that I am able to wake up early and eat my first meal at home.

JULY 29 BLOGS:

B - How does your body feel?
My body feels good. I have been trying to push myself in the warm up but I still find it hard to complete at level 3. I do feel stronger and I have noticed that I can keep up better in the workouts. I am slacking though on that 5th workout. For some reason I cannot manage to get it in. I will be going NJ and it’s so hard to get it then since I will be busy with family activities. But I did dance my butt off at my Aunt’s wedding Saturday night so I sort think that counts.

L - What have you learned about you? your coach? your team?
I have a strong will power. The way I view food has completely change. I make wise choices which in the past I would have eaten whatever the heck I wanted. I love carbs and being in NJ really caters to that love but this time around. I eat ½ the whole wheat bagel and had egg whites veggie omelet. At the wedding I stuffed my face with the veggies and shrimp so when my dinner came, I only ate the roasted beef and asparagus. Talk about will power, never in my life did I think I would have it. That by far is ahhhmazing. I am extremely happy that I can control myself and not act crazy when it comes to food.

My coach is still continues to impress me. She is still pushing to reach her ultimate goal. Her weight loss story motives me to push harder and to understand that it can be done. I will take time but results will come about if work is put into it. This is not a fad diet for me but a lifestyle change.

The team: Everyone continues to amaze me. I love how honest people are and share their struggles. It’s nice to know that I am not alone. Everyone is so helpful, thoughtful, and supportive. Honestly, I love coming to the WORX because I feel like I’m working out with my friends.

O - What observations can you make about change?
Change is hard. Every day is a struggle, especially when you are around people who don’t understand your new lifestyle. But I will prevail and continue to do the best that I can. I have a great team and coach.  I am excited to see my hard work pay off.

G- What small goals can you celebrate?
That I have been able to rock some body hugging dresses this month. Holla!!! It’s very exciting to see the transformation.

S - Set your week's goals and plan you week!
To get in that 5th workout no matter what is happening this weekend. I will even do a 6th workout since I did not get that one in last week. L My goal for the rest of this journey is to get to bed at a reasonable hour so that I am able to wake up early and eat my first meal at home.

JULY 22 BLOGS:

B - How does your body feel?
My body feels good. I have definitely been feeling sore for sure. I have been working on squeezing my core at all times. This past week I was brave because I took two classes at the WORX and man I felt it the next for days. I still have to admit that that warm up still kicks my butt. Dang, it never gets easy.

L - What have you learned about you? your coach? your team?
Sometime I hold back because that voice inside my head tells me I cannot push any further. I need to believe that I can keep up and that I can push harder. I need to realize my own strength and embrace it. And not be so quick to give up.

My coach is a trooper….one bad chick. She eats right, works out, and runs like crazy. I envy (in a good, positive way) her nice legs. And I definitely admire her will power and determination. She still works hard.

And what can I say about our awesome team - Family. And I feel blessed because everyone is so helpful and always willing to help. Sharing links, website, recipes, and/or tips on everything is awesome. It’s a nice feeling knowing that you are surrounded by a group of people that are supportive and understanding. Thanks everyone.

O - What observations can you make about change?
Change is a continuous event in your life. Normally I like things stagnant but not when it comes to my workouts. Grrrr, “Super Loli” comes out. Ahahaha!!! I am definitely open and willing to accept it because I feel that only way to get the results is via CHANGE.  And I would like to mention that no matter how bad my day is, I know that once I get to the WORX I am going to work it hard. I may be kicking high, squatting low, or jumping higher. Beware “Super Loli” is in the building!!!!

G- What small goals can you celebrate?
I can celebrate the fact that I was able to rock an old grey and black dress that I hadn’t worn in three years. J Of course it did not fit like it did three years ago BUT at least I felt confident enough to wear it. Feels good to know that all my hard work is paying off.

S - Set your week's goals and plan you week!
I plan to cook my meals and prepare my snacks so that I have eat 6 meals a day. I need to eat my first meal within my first hour of waking up. So I will need to go to sleep early so that I am able to get those 8 hours of that good sleep. And I also intend to take advantage of my cheat meal.

JULY 15 BLOGS:

B - How does your body feel?
My body feels great. I love the fact that within minutes of the warm up, I am sweating profusely. I  love these workouts too. I must admit thought that sometimes I feel like the warm up is the hardest part of the entire workout. Lol. I am going to get it right though. One of these days it will happen. So until then I intend to push my body to do more.

L - What have you learned about you? your coach? your team?
My determination and commitment is serious. I am so committed and determined to get healthy and fit. I have rediscovered my love for working out. I feel ahhhmazing!!! And I need to mention that sleep better and feel more energized that ever.

My coach is awesome. Without saying much, she continues to motivate me and inspire me. I feel like if she can do it then heck so can I. J I see her pushing hard at The Worx and that makes me push harder too. It’s nice to see her there when I am there.

This team is like family. I love coming to the WORX and seeing all my friends (new friendship made). Everyone is awesome, fun, and very helpful. I especially am grateful for them because they are also my “couches” while we are working out. Everyone pushes hard and I feel like I need to push myself a little more. And of course I love special thank you to everyone who shows my Layla nothing but love.

O - What observations can you make about change?
Change is good. I am working on embracing it as much as possible. This journey has opened my eyes, ears, and mind to change my life. I feel excited all the time and I feel like I am accomplishing major goals right now. Mind you every day is still a struggle but I am up for the challenge and keep moving forward.

G- What small goals can you celebrate?
I have lost 7 ½ lbs and a few inches. Whoo Hoo!!! It’s such a great feeling knowing that I am making a difference. I feel and see it. I want more of it and determined to get it!!!

S - Set your week's goals and plan you week!
I am still trying to get the hang of things. Being a single mommy, working full-time, cooking all my & Layla’s meals, and working out are not easy to joggle but I try to do my best. I will continue prepare my meals, work out at the Worx, and get that 5th or 6th workout in. Taking it one day at a time.

JULY 8 BLOGS:

B - How does your body feel?

My body feels great but sore which is good thing. All I know is I love how within the first minutes of the warm-up, I am sweating like nobody’s business. Not going to lie that darn “warm-up” is still killer. Whooooo!!! It gets me every time. I do feel stronger. I am sad to share that I did not get in my 5th workout since I travel to NJ and lost my motivation. Booo!!! But I will make it up this week for sure.

L - What have you learned about you? your coach? your team?

I am one determined girl. This determination to get fit, healthy, and tone is what drives me to push harder and do better. I believe in myself and I know I will continue to do me. J Thanks to my coach, she is very motivational. I may not ask too many questions or rely on her too heavily but I do watch how hard she trains and all that she has accomplish. I am intrigued and thinking about doing the ultimate reset. I cannot thank her enough for introducing me to eat cleaning because it has changed the way I cook and feed my body.

Man this team is unbelievable. I couldn’t have asked for a better group of people share this journey with. I may not know everyone personally but I love how dedicated and motivated everyone is. It makes coming to the WORX fun because I have a new group of friends who understand me as I experience new emotions on a weekly basis. I am definitely grateful to all those that share their tips, photos, blogs, advice, recipes, etc. It’s been so nice to be around people who are nice. And of course happy to see everyone show my Lala so much love.

O - What observations can you make about change?

Change is constant and if you want to see a change then you will have to do something about it.

G- What small goals can you celebrate?

That I have lost 7 ½ lbs and 2 inches off my wait. Amazing!!! This journey has changed my life for the better. I am happier and sleep so good now. Life is good.

S - Set your week's goals and plan you week!
My goal is to wake up early and eat in that 1st hour of waking up. I also plan to replace my evening meal with Shakeology. Work on getting new recipes and get creative with my meals. I intend to fuel my body with 6 small meals and drink water, water, water, and a little more water.
